Exclusive Import and Distribution Rights of the Italian forte_forte brand

ITOCHU Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Masahiro Okafuji, President & CEO; hereinafter “ITOCHU”) announced today that it has acquired exclusive import and distribution rights in the Japanese market for the Italian women’s clothing brand forte_forte. Market release of the brand will begin in the 2015 spring/summer season through CORONET CORPORATION (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Shigeaki Chiba, President; hereinafter “Coronet”).

The forte_forte brand was established in the Veneto region in Italy in 2002 by siblings Paolo Forte and Giada Forte. After studying economics, older brother Paolo first worked in a knitwear business, collaborating with luxury brands, and expanded his professional experience in London and New York. In the meantime, his sister Giada majored in knitwear design at the Nottingham Trent University in the UK and flourished as a fashion designer in Paris and Italy. After building their respective international experience, the siblings returned to their hometown and launched their eponymous brand forte_forte in order to express their personalities, which are characterized as “pure, essential, sincere, filled with emotions”.

The forte_forte collection uses finest Italian fabrics and makes extensive use of specialized and handmade finishes. Refusing to get caught up in trends, it creates refined and feminine styles. Also, tremendous effort is put into the presentation of all products, which include items like embroidered labels, tags that are attached with a small jewel charm, and a small beautiful perfumed bag. The collection is marketed not only in Italy, but also in more than 40 countries around the world, including Japan, the United States, and countries in Europe.

ITOCHU, in association with its full-scale release in the Japanese market, will vigorously promote the worldview of the forte_forte brand by targeting sophisticated women in their 20s to 40s. The brand will be released nationwide, primarily in department stores and leading specialty stores, utilizing Coronet’s abundant experience and expertise in the Japanese market as a way to boost brand recognition, with the aim of achieving sales of 1.0 billion yen on a retail basis in three years.
